Exhibits in shows in Rome and Buenos Aires.
Participates in an Italian art exhibition in Paris.
Wins awards at the "Esso Prize," the “Rome Prize for Figure,” the “Marzotto Prize,” the “Faenza Prize for Ceramics,” and the "Bari Prize".
Invited for the first time to the Biennale di Venezia in 1952.

 

1954
Awarded at the "Spoleto Prize".
Holds exhibitions in Rome and Buenos Aires.
Presents a group of works at the Biennale di Venezia.
After years of post-Cubist painting, he experiences a deep crisis and destroys many works.

 

1955/1956
Participates with a personal exhibition of drawings at the Biennale di Venezia, where he receives the "Biennale Presidency Award."
Begins a period of greater freedom, with a dynamic emphasis on form, and his colours become more vibrant and expressive.
Progressively moves away from figurative painting, while his drawings remain figurative.
